Jernigan Equipment Rentals started with one simple goal: to help people get their projects done with the right tools and dependable service. Jacob Jernigan, the founder and owner, has always been driven by a strong work ethic, and a heart for serving others. As someone who’s spent years outdoors managing landscaping projects and operating equipment firsthand, Jacob understands just how important it is to have reliable tools you can count on. Inspired by his faith and a desire to honor God in his work, he started this business to serve his community with honesty, integrity, and excellence. Today, Jernigan Equipment Rentals takes pride in offering top-notch equipment, fair pricing, and the kind of customer service that treats you like a neighbor, not a number.

Meet the Owner

​Jacob holds two Associate of Science degrees from NC State University—in Agricultural Business Management and Horticultural Science Management—that provide a solid foundation for both the business and practical sides of equipment and land care. Beyond his education, he serves as a volunteer Lieutenant Firefighter with the Northern Wake Fire Department, reflecting his dedication to community service. Jacob is supported by his wife, Maggie, who assists with the business on her days off from nursing. A graduate of Meredith College and Barton College, Maggie shares Jacob’s values of faith, hard work, and service. The two met during their college years—Jacob as a Wolf at NC State and Maggie as an Angel at Meredith—and now work together to build a business grounded in shared purpose and a desire to honor God through their work.
First Responder Discounts
At Jernigan Equipment Rentals, we deeply appreciate the dedication and sacrifice of our first responders and military members. As a volunteer Lieutenant Firefighter himself, Jacob understands the commitment involved and wants to give back. That’s why we offer a 10% discount on all equipment rentals to active duty military personnel, military veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters (both career and volunteer), and EMS personnel. Simply present a valid ID at the time of rental to receive this discount. It’s our way of saying thank you for your service and commitment to protecting and supporting our community.
